The Collinsville State School is a small rural school community and values the quality education programs offered in this small school setting for students from the Preparatory Year to Year 6. The school follows the national curriculum and ACARA led by a teaching principal.

The behaviour of our students is fantastic and the climate is one of hard work, dedication, aspiration and achievement.

Our school motto, 'Nolite Dedere' means 'never surrender, never give up' and we pride ourselves on aspiring to do this daily. We celebrate success.

We currently cater for seventy students from Prep to Year 6.

Our community

Collinsville is a mining community, steep in history and union ties. The community is about 85 km from Bowen which enables families to conduct all business and to shop in that city. This creates a community with a country feel with the benefits of being close to the city and beach.

Collinsville State School is proud of the relationship it has with the community, and acknowledges that this can always be improved. It has a committed P&C that organised fundraising activities and tuckshop. Social events happen at the school and at the community hall. Our focus is to bring the school and the community together to provide our children with the best opportunities. We believe that community and school are where the heart is. In saying this, we also acknowledge that we have 2 other small primary schools that we need to co-exist respectfully and professionally together.

The highlight of the year is the annual Awards and Christmas concert presented by the school to a hall full of families and community members. It is fully catered and greatly welcomed and praised each year by everyone. Our goal is to see a school highlight every term, promoting school, family and community.
